Booking, rescheduling, and cancelling

How do I book an appointment?

Go to the booking page and enter your email address in the first box. Type the same email again in Confirm email, then click Send Code. Open that email inbox and enter the six digit code. If the message is not visible, check spam or junk because email filters can move automated messages there.

After verification, choose how you want to book. Use the MFI form for direct pay. Use Headway if you want to book with insurance. Headway is the insurance booking partner, and the Headway button opens Dr. Paula Gable's Headway page so you can check benefits and book there directly.

For direct pay, select the appointment type, choose an available day, choose a time, click Next, enter your name and phone number, then review everything before confirming.

How do I reschedule an appointment?

Open your appointment confirmation email and choose Reschedule. That button opens the appointment page for that booking.

Choose a new available day, then choose the new time you want. Review the old appointment and the new appointment before continuing. Self-pay appointments show the $26 reschedule fee before checkout.

The appointment is not changed until you complete the final confirmation or checkout step. After it is complete, you receive a reschedule confirmation email with the updated day and time.

How do I cancel an appointment?

Open your appointment confirmation email and choose Cancel. That button opens the appointment page for that booking.

Review the appointment details carefully. The appointment stays active until you click the final cancellation button.

After you confirm cancellation, the appointment is removed from the schedule and a cancellation email confirms it is done.

Getting started

How do I know if I need therapy or coaching?

A good rule of thumb is to assess your current situation and your desired future.

Therapy is primarily focused on healing — it's the right fit if you're struggling with daily functioning, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or addiction, or processing trauma. It provides a safe, clinical space for healing and restoring your baseline of well-being.

Coaching is about flourishing. It's future-oriented. If you're generally functioning well but feel stuck, want to achieve a specific personal or professional goal, or seek deeper growth and direction, coaching offers the tools and accountability to reach the next level.

Do I have to live in Colorado to work with you?

It depends on the type of service.

My clinical therapy services are only available to residents of Colorado, because they are regulated by state licensing boards. This includes couples therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, and addiction counseling — all of which require my Colorado LMFT and LAC licenses.

However, my coaching, online courses, webinars, and group programs are non-clinical and open to anyone, regardless of where you live. I work with coaching clients across the United States and internationally.

Practical details

Do you accept insurance?

For licensed therapy in Colorado, insurance booking is handled through Headway. Use my Headway page to check current plan eligibility, benefits, and appointment options before booking.

Coaching, retreats, and educational courses are non-clinical services and cannot be billed to health insurance. They are self-pay, with sliding-scale rates available.

About Dr. Paula's approach

Do I need to be religious or spiritual to work with you?

Not at all. While my background includes serving as an ordained minister, my practice is entirely inclusive and respectful of all belief systems — including secular ones.

My focus is always on your internal wisdom. We will ground our work in practical, research-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Family Systems theory.

If spiritual concepts resonate with you, we can certainly incorporate them. If not, we focus solely on evidence-based tools and compassionate care. I have worked with atheists, agnostics, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and everything in between — what matters is that the work serves you.

What does it mean when you incorporate both "science and spirit" into your practice?

It means you don't have to choose between logic and heart.

My engineering background means I value what works — so I use proven, research-backed strategies that lead to tangible changes in your thinking, behavior, and relationships. No fluff, no vague affirmations.

My ministerial background brings profound care, deep empathy, and the unwavering belief that you possess the innate capacity to transform your life. You'll receive practical tools for your mind and compassionate support for your soul — both, not either/or.

The result is a practice that is both rigorous and deeply human.
